Cheap GHD Ceramic Hair Straighteners – Are They Worth The Money?

GHD are amazing hair straighteners, if it’s not some celebrity icon like Victoria Beckham, Madonna or someone like Gwyneth Paltrow using them, then its that girl on the bus or that women in the club getting all the attention. People have really began to take note of the latest fashion accessory since they blasted into the market. However, unlike Gucci handbags and Jimmy Choo shoes being must see items in the public eye these GHD ceramic straighteners are different, so very different. Most of the time people would much rather keep it a secret why they look so good. Its their special weapon on any particular night out to give them that edge.

With all the current hair straighteners on the market, names like Chi, Sedu and many straightening irons that at first look OK and appear to have ceramic plates. They only later reveal themselves as being painted imitations that chip and damage hair or just ineffective promises that result in you either giving up using them or just get you frustrated with how they don’t give you the same results you were sold.

Well GHD are different. You generally pay for what you get and GHD are no exception. You could find a pair of straighteners for £30 but how much quality do you think would be put into them for that price?

GHD on the other hand offers:

1) A universal voltage which means you can take them on holiday to America or the somewhere in the UK.

2) Are so practical and effective you can use them for whichever style you are trying to create. Straight hair or curls.

3) Barrel is rounder than traditional models therefore giving you more control with your hair.

4) Because the plates are ceramic, the plates heat up evenly dispensing the same heat through your hair so you are much more unlikely to receive any heat spots or damaged hair.

Also now seems a perfect time to point out what GHD actually stands for….Its “Good Hair Day”. Kinda says it all really.

Therefore, to use them, all you need to do is preferably:

1. Wash your hair first before using your GHD hair straightener.

2. Dry your hair for a good few minutes.

3. Use your preferred GHD hair straightener on your hair.

4. Optional – Finish with brushing your hair to get the desired effect.

(Also be careful to place them on a heat mat and turn them off as soon as you have finished using them to prevent any unnecessary drama.)

There are 3 models GHD currently do. There is the famous and gorgeous pink straighteners which are in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and for every pair sold, GHD give a percentage of that to the charity. Then you have the thin and wide versions. Both good in different ways – one more effective for hair detail, the other effective for longer, thicker hair. However, either way you look at it, GHD have come out with a fantastic record and only look on strengthening that in the future. Beware other cheap imitations currently being sold, GHD are on the scene and they don’t plan to disappear anytime soon.
