Emma Lacey designs and makes tactile ceramic tableware from her studio in North London. Most work is hand-thrown using fine stoneware clay and then assembled, manipulated, or finished to add something a bit different to the items we use every day. The thought and detail that goes into our layouts are inspired by a love of materials and a desire to create objects that are a pleasure to grip and are made to last.
Inspired by an enthusiastic interest in day-to-day functionality and simplistic layout and hand-thrown in the UK using fine stoneware clay, each jug is subtly dented while the clay is still soft. This unique process lends the bits an ergonomic feature, which makes them enjoyable and straightforward to hold.
